Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about the controversial gesture.

Ronaldo started against South Korea in the third Group H match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup at Education City Stadium in Qatar on the 3rd.

Ronaldo, who failed to show any significant performance throughout the game, was replaced in the 20th minute of the second half.

Ronaldo, who was slowly leaving the ground, put his index finger on his mouth and made a gesture as if to be quiet when South Korea's Cho Gue-Sung urged him to leave quickly.

After the game, Portuguese coach Fernando Santos said Ronaldo was offended by the Korean player, adding, "It's not aggressive, but I think he said something."

According to Marca, Ronaldo said, "A Korean player told me to get out quickly. I told him to shut up because he had no authority," he explained the situation at the time.

Cho Gue-Sung explained the scene and said Ronaldo was abusive.

ChoGue-Sung said, "When Ronaldo left, I said 'Fast' and 'Fast' to mean to leave quickly." But all of a sudden, he said, "Caralho (Portuguese swear word)."

Meanwhile, Ronaldo visited Korea for Juventus in 2019 and played an All-Star game, but he was embroiled in a "no-show controversy" after not playing for a minute. At that time, many domestic soccer fans were disappointed with Ronaldo and strongly criticized him.

Korean fans who visited the stadium on the same day booed Ronaldo whenever he caught the ball.
