Minnesota United signed korean midfielder Jung Ho-yeon
MLS' Minnesota United has officially announced the signing of Jung Ho-yeon.
Minnesota announced that it has signed a three-year contract with midfielder Jung Ho-yeon, who plays for K-League's Gwangju FC.
The contract runs until December 2027 and includes a team option for the 2028 season. He will join the team as an international player once the visa and international transfer agreement procedures are completed.
Jung Ho-yeon played 113 games for Gwangju from 2022 to 2024, scoring three goals and 14 assists. He won the K-League 1 Young Player Award in 2023.
Before turning pro, he played for the Gwangju FC U-18 team and Dankook University.
He has also played for the U-23 national team and the national team. He made his debut for the national team in the 2024 World Cup qualifier against Thailand in March. He won a gold medal at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.
Jung Ho-yeon also said through the club, “I am happy to join Minnesota. I am really looking forward to the new challenge and am grateful for the opportunity to grow with the team. I want to do my best to contribute to the team and grow as a player in this new environment.” He continued, “I heard that Minnesota is a competitive MLS team with excellent players and coaching staff.
