Son Heung-min proves why he is the 'real captain'

Son Heung-min, who led the victory against Brentford, is receiving praise as a ‘true captain’.

In the 24th round of the 2024-2025 English Premier League (PL), Tottenham won 2-0 against Brentford. With this, Tottenham ended its four-game losing streak in the league and rose to 14th place.

In the 42nd minute of the second half, Son Heung-min provided his 7th assist in the league. Son Heung-min passed the ball accurately to Pape Matar Sarr, who was penetrating into the half-space during a counterattack. Sarr, who received the ball, shot between the goalkeeper’s legs and scored. This is Son Heung-min's 7th assist of the season and his 69th assist in the PL. With this, Son Heung-min surpassed Darren Anderton and rose to 17th place in assists in the league.

Son Heung-min not only scored, but also contributed to the team with his dedication. He made three tackles that day and tried to block the opponent's attack.
