Son Heung-min: "I'm disappointed in myself"

Son Heung-min reflected on the disappointing draw against Oman and vowed, "I'm disappointed in myself, but I'll use it as an opportunity to improve further."

The Korean national football team, led by coach Hong Myung-bo, drew 1-1 with Oman in the 7th Group B match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup North and Central America Asia 3rd qualifying round at Goyang Stadium on the 20th.

Korea maintained its lead in Group B with 4 wins and 3 draws (15 points). However, they missed a win in their first A match of the year, which had high expectations, and their plan to secure early qualification for the World Cup through the 2nd match in March also fell through.

Son Heung-min played the full game and ran wild on the field, but failed to score any offensive points and hung his head in shame with the draw.

After the match, Son Heung-min reflected, saying, "It was a day where I was disappointed in myself and felt sorry for my teammates."

However, he said, "This match is not the end. There is no time to feel regret because the next match (against Jordan on the 25th) is right next." He added, "It is important to use today's match as an opportunity to improve and continue working hard right away."
