Bayern Munich are ready to part ways with Kim Min-jae just one year after his blockbuster arrival from Napoli, with the South Korean defender now attracting serious interest from Premier League sides Chelsea and Newcastle United, as well as Italian giants Juventus, Inter Milan, and Napoli. According to a report by BILD and SPORT BILD, Kim is open to a move this summer — but only if the right project comes along.

According to BILD’s Christian Falk, Bayern Munich have informed several players, including Leon Goretzka, that they are no longer considered part of the club's long-term plans. While Goretzka’s contract runs until 2026, the Bavarian club is actively seeking to offload him.

In defence, Kim Min-jae is another potential departure. Despite being under contract until 2028, Bayern are reportedly disappointed that his performances have not fully matched the expectations set by his €50 million transfer fee. Though the club still values him highly, he is now considered a saleable asset — particularly amid rising interest from top European sides.

Sources close to the player have told Football Asian that Kim is not actively pushing for an exit, but would seriously consider a transfer if the sporting project is compelling. Notably, financial terms are not his top priority. Despite speculation, there has been no direct contact between Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and Kim’s camp, though the Italian club, along with Inter and Napoli, remain interested.

Meanwhile, several Saudi Arabian clubs are reportedly preparing lucrative salary packages to tempt the 27-year-old away from Europe. While the financial allure is immense, insiders suggest Kim remains focused on staying in Europe at the highest level unless a project in Saudi Arabia can match his professional ambitions.

In the Premier League, both Chelsea and Newcastle United are monitoring his situation closely. Newcastle, in particular, have a long-standing interest dating back to his time at Fenerbahçe and Napoli.

Bayern’s Fire Sale Continues

Alongside Kim Min-jae, Bayern are also open to selling other first-team players:

  • João Palhinha (29): €40M

  • Sacha Boey (24): €18M

  • Bryan Zaragoza (23): €12M

In addition, Mathys Tel remains a hot topic. The French forward, currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, is tied to a deal including a €60M buy option — of which up to €10M would be offset by the loan fee. According to BILD, Daniel Levy is interested in keeping Tel long-term despite his inconsistency, and Bayern are open to renegotiating the fee if Spurs act decisively.
