BREAKING: Kang-in Lee to Napoli? €30m price may drop as talks intensify under Conte’s plan
Napoli eye bargain move for Kang-in Lee as Conte stays put with promises of seven signings and elite facilities overhaul
With Antonio Conte set to continue his reign at Napoli, the club is pushing ahead with an ambitious transfer window – and PSG’s Kang-in Lee could be a headline addition at a cut-price fee. Italian daily Il Mattino reports that talks are underway.
Antonio Conte is staying in Naples. That now appears a near certainty after president Aurelio De Laurentiis pulled out all the stops to convince the fiery Salentino to lead the club into a new era – one built around European ambitions, elite infrastructure, and a flurry of high-level signings.
According to Sport Mediaset, Conte has received firm assurances on three key fronts: a substantial salary increase from his current €6 million deal, a pledge of seven quality reinforcements including Kevin De Bruyne, and a full revamp of Napoli’s training facilities to meet top European standards.
And it’s within that bold project that Kang-in Lee has emerged as a serious target.
Lee the ideal Conte piece
The South Korean playmaker, currently on the books at Paris Saint-Germain, is believed to be open to a new challenge after a mixed season in Ligue 1. Despite contributing six goals and six assists, Lee has struggled to secure a consistent starting berth under Luis Enrique, and a move could benefit all parties.
As Il Mattino reports, Napoli have "launched an assault" for Lee, who fits the mould of an inverted winger with a natural left foot operating from the right. Though PSG value the 24-year-old around €30 million, sources close to the deal suggest Napoli will look to exploit their strong relationship with the French club to negotiate a significantly reduced fee.
This is not unprecedented: De Laurentiis has previously done business with PSG to good effect, including the widely reported approach from Nasser Al-Khelaifi for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. That cordial relationship could now smooth the path for Lee’s arrival, especially with his contract running until 2028 but his role at the Parc des Princes uncertain.
Conte's blueprint: De Bruyne, David, and more
With Kevin De Bruyne’s move to Naples reportedly at the final stage – his legal team is already in the city to sort out a home in Posillipo and finalise a three-year deal worth €8 million annually plus a sizeable signing bonus – the club is already operating on a Champions League scale.
Another high-profile free transfer, Jonathan David, is expected to follow, with Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior and Inter’s Davide Frattesi also on the radar.
As Sport Mediaset puts it: “The table is set. Conte has been granted every demand – from financial guarantees to the technical project. And that includes the seven reinforcements he requested to make Napoli a contender both domestically and in Europe.”
The official confirmation of Conte’s continued stay is expected imminently, but inside the club, confidence is sky-high. The belief is that Napoli are not just holding onto one of Italy’s top coaches – they are building something that finally matches his ambition.
Exit door open too
To facilitate this influx, Napoli are also preparing for several departures. Victor Osimhen is attracting interest from across Europe, with a fee of €75 million likely to be accepted. Natan could complete a permanent switch to Real Betis for €9 million, while out-of-favour players like Lindstrøm, Cajuste, Folorunsho, Cheddira, and Caprile are all likely to be offloaded.
Caprile, who spent the season at Cagliari, could even be used in a part-exchange to bring in Torino’s Vanja Milinković-Savić, depending on how negotiations unfold.
But at the heart of it all lies the De Laurentiis-Conte pact: a unified vision, bold in scope and unwavering in ambition. And if that vision includes a creative force like Kang-in Lee, Napoli fans could be watching a far more dynamic and continental side next season.
