Al Hilal are on the brink of completing a record-breaking move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports emerging from Italy and Japan. The Saudi Pro League giants have agreed to pay the full €75 million (£64 million) release clause for the Nigerian international, with Osimhen now expected to make a decision on his future within the next 24 hours.

The 25-year-old forward spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he delivered a sensational campaign, scoring 37 goals and providing 8 assists in 41 matches across all competitions. Despite Galatasaray’s efforts to sign him permanently, negotiations stalled, paving the way for Al Hilal to step in.

Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his transfer-focused DAZN programme, confirmed that “Al Hilal have already reached a full agreement with Napoli to pay the release clause of €75 million. They are now waiting for Osimhen himself to accept the proposal.” Romano added that Osimhen is currently back in Nigeria with his family, and a final decision is expected imminently.

Financially, the deal is set to be a game-changer. Reports indicate that Osimhen will be offered an annual salary of around €30 million (£25 million) plus bonuses, making him one of the highest-paid players in world football.

Al Hilal are reportedly preparing to conduct a medical examination as soon as Osimhen returns from international duty, with the club hopeful of finalising the move swiftly.

Should the deal be completed, it would mark one of the most significant signings in the Saudi Pro League’s history, underlining the league’s growing ambition to attract top talent from Europe’s elite clubs.
