Seoul E-Land FC have made a statement signing in their bid for K League 1 promotion, confirming the arrival of Brazilian forward Alan Lima Carius—the reigning top scorer of Saudi Arabia’s First Division League.

The club officially announced on June 12 that the 28-year-old attacker has joined ahead of the 2024–25 season, following a prolific campaign with Al-Adalah, where he scored 20 goals and provided 8 assists in 32 appearances. Despite not being a natural striker by trade, Carius claimed the league's Golden Boot and stood out as one of the division’s most complete attacking threats.

Versatile, Experienced and Hungry for Redemption

Carius arrives in Korea with a point to prove. In 2022, he made a short-lived move to the J.League with Kyoto Sanga—where he failed to register a goal in four appearances. That experience left the Brazilian with unfinished business in East Asia, and according to club sources, it was a key reason behind his decision to choose Seoul E-Land over more lucrative offers from Saudi Pro League sides.

“Playing in Korea has long been on my mind,” said Carius. “I didn’t hesitate to accept the offer. My focus and determination allowed me to become the top scorer last season, and that same passion will continue here. I’ll give everything to help this team achieve promotion.”

Despite interest from several K League clubs, including Gangwon FC and Jeonnam Dragons, Seoul E-Land moved quickly and decisively to secure his signature. The club had recently parted ways with fellow Brazilian forward Italo, who underwhelmed with just one goal and one assist in five appearances. Carius was identified as a priority target to bolster their attacking options, joining a foreign contingent that includes Osmar, Euler, Aidell, and Pedrinho.

From Vasco Academy to Saudi Stardom

A product of Vasco da Gama’s youth setup, Carius began his professional career with Volta Redonda before embarking on a journeyman path that took him through Austria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Japan. His most notable development came in Saudi Arabia, where he thrived at Al-Adalah over two seasons. In 2023–24, he notched 8 goals and 10 assists, laying the groundwork for this year’s career-best output.

Comfortable playing as a winger, second striker, attacking midfielder, or even up top, Carius is praised for his intelligent movement, shooting technique, and stamina. At 175cm and 74kg, he combines balance and agility with a sharp right foot that has become his trademark weapon.

Currently resting in Brazil, Carius is expected to arrive in South Korea as soon as his visa process is complete. He joins Seoul E-Land at a crucial juncture: the club is mounting a strong challenge for its first-ever promotion to the top flight, and with a proven scorer now in the fold, expectations are higher than ever.

Having come agonisingly close to promotion with Al-Adalah—falling in the Saudi First Division play-off final—Carius is now determined to finish the job in Seoul.
