Suwon FC Sign Proven K League Playmaker Andrigo to Bolster Second-Half Push
Suwon FC have completed the signing of Brazilian attacking midfielder Andrigo (full name: Oliveira de Araujo Andrigo), adding the final piece to their summer recruitment drive as they look to revitalise their campaign in the second half of the K League season.
A familiar face to K League fans, Andrigo brings with him a proven track record from his time at FC Anyang and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. The 29-year-old has made 64 appearances in the Korean top flight, registering 16 goals and 14 assists. During his two-year stint with Anyang, he notched an impressive 13 goals and 12 assists, establishing himself as one of the league’s standout creative talents.
Andrigo began his professional career at SC Internacional in Brazil before making the move to Korea in 2022. Known for his versatility, he is capable of operating across both flanks as well as in a central attacking midfield role. With a combination of precise passing, elegant dribbling, and a sharp eye for goal near the box, he offers Suwon FC a valuable creative outlet. His vision and ability to unlock defences with incisive forward passes are expected to be crucial assets for the club moving forward.
The new signing has been handed the number 15 shirt – a choice that carries symbolic meaning. “Suwon was officially designated a city on 15 August 1949. It marked the beginning of the city as a self-governing municipality,” said Andrigo. “Wearing number 15 is my way of honouring that moment and standing with the people of Suwon.”
Andrigo now joins a group of recent summer arrivals including Willian, Ahn Hyun-beom, and Han Chan-hee, as manager Kim Eun-jung looks to ignite a resurgence in form. Suwon FC believe the combination of these attacking options could create the spark needed to climb the table in the coming months.
