The disparagement of Son Heung-min is going too far. At first, he criticized Son Heung-min by talking about his qualifications as a 'captain'. Former Tottenham player Jamie Redknapp said through 'Sky Sports', "There needs to be a message to the players. The players need to take responsibility. I don't see Son Heung-min as a captain. I've never seen him lead the team."

The possibility of him being demoted to a candidate has also been raised. On 'Football Fancast' made a shocking claim, "In order to increase Tottenham Hotspur's chances of winning, Son Heung-min should be replaced by Mathis Tell. Son Heung-min is the team's icon, but he was incredibly incompetent throughout the game against Liverpool. Son Heung-min should be replaced by the dynamic and unpredictable Tell."

Was Son Heung-min really in such a slump that he deserves this level of criticism and condemnation? It's true that he's had ups and downs this season, but it's not to the extent that he deserves excessive criticism. Son Heung-min has 6 goals and 7 assists in 21 Premier League games this season. In terms of official matches, he has 10 goals and 8 assists in 33 games. Tottenham is one of the few players who has scored more goals than Son Heung-min.

Now, suspicions have been raised that Son Heung-min is 'slacking off'. On the 13th, the British 'The Boy Hotspur' reported the remarks of Phil Thompson, a former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports panelist. The media outlet reported, "Son Heung-min is no longer listening to coach Anze Postecoglou."

Thompson said on the 'No Trippy Taffy Football Podcast', "Son Heung-min was once a decisive player who changed the flow of the game. However, this season, he seems to have lacked that energy. His performance has not only been a problem in the past few months, but has been inconsistent throughout the season. It is questionable whether he can maintain the speed he used to. Son Heung-min is still an important player for Tottenham, but his current performance may not fit the direction Tottenham wants to go." He criticized Son Heung-min's recent poor performance. In addition, Thompson suspected the discord between the Tottenham players and manager Postecoglou. In particular, he directly mentioned Son Heung-min. He said, "I think it's important for the players to be with the manager. But when I look at the recent behavior of the Tottenham players, I wonder, 'Are they no longer listening to the manager?' The biggest problem is Son Heung-min. What happened to him? He was always the main player when the team won. But this season, Son Heung-min looked so lacking," and made an absurd excuse that Son Heung-min was the center of the discord between the manager and the players.

He continued, "Son Heung-min was full of energy, but he looked so lacking this season. It's not just the past few months. Son Heung-min no longer seems to have the passion, dedication, and ability. He doesn't seem to have the speed. It may also not fit the direction that Tottenham has been pursuing this year."

This is speculation that does not take Son Heung-min's position into account. Son Heung-min has been playing for Tottenham for 11 years since joining Tottenham in 2015. He has produced 172 goals and 94 assists in 441 games so far. Son Heung-min is one of Tottenham's true legends.
