Hold onto your lightsticks—K-pop’s biggest girl groups are about to collide.
In what fans are calling a “dream showdown,” BLACKPINK and TWICE are making long-awaited comebacks next month—both dropping new music in Korea for the first time in years. And yes, it’s happening at the same time.
BLACKPINK: Back in Black (and Pink)
Mark your calendars: BLACKPINK is officially returning as a full group for the first time in nearly three years. The global icons will unveil a brand-new track during their massive “DEADLINE” world tour stop on July 5–6 at the Goyang Sports Complex Stadium.
This will be their first group release since 2022’s chart-smashing BORN PINK, and while YG Entertainment is keeping tight-lipped about the sound and concept, industry insiders say fans can expect “a comeback worthy of the world’s biggest girl group.” Word on the street is that the music video has already been shot—right in Korea.
TWICE: 10 Years In, Still Reigning
Not to be outdone, TWICE is dropping their fourth full-length album, “This Is For,” on July 11—just days after BLACKPINK’s big reveal. It’s the group’s first studio album in nearly four years, and it comes as they celebrate their 10th debut anniversary.
The album boasts 14 tracks, including the title song and pre-release fan favorites like “FOUR,” “MARS,” and “Peach Gelato.” The rollout began with a nine-member lyric video preview that sent ONCEs into a frenzy, and anticipation is only growing.
