LAFC co-president and GM John Thorrington revealed to Black & Gold Insider that while Son Heung-min's debut isn’t guaranteed this Saturday due to immigration paperwork, the club is pulling every string to get him on the pitch as soon as possible. His professionalism and laser focus—"he came last night and already knows some teammates," Thorrington enthused—makes him a seamless fit, should logistics align.

Son’s First Days and Debut Uncertainty
When asked about Son’s first game, Thorrington detailed the South Korean star's seamless integration: “He arrived last night, has already learned some players’ names, and after today’s press conference he’ll head to the training centre for stretching and the necessary drills. He’s an astonishing professional.” He noted the tight turnaround in processing U.S. immigration and visa formalities, but pledged: “We’re doing everything possible to enable him this Saturday. If it doesn’t happen, I’m confident he’ll play in the next match.”

Son’s Focus: Just Football
In an interview with the Korea dailyUSA, Son emphasized his priorities: “I came here to play football. Nothing else entered my mind—I want to get on that pitch and perform.” When asked about Hugo Lloris’s advice, he laughed: “LA traffic is bad, he said. Not a problem—I dealt with London traffic. Just walk out ten minutes earlier. Long travel isn’t a challenge. I’m here to elevate this league and push this club forward in any way.”

LAFC’s 2025 Campaign: A Push for Playoffs
LAFC currently sit sixth in the MLS Western Conference, accumulating around 36 points from 22 matches, positioning them squarely in the playoff hunt. Notably, their Leagues Cup run fell short; despite a dramatic 2–1 debut win over Tigres, that wasn’t enough to bag a quarter‑final berth
