South Korean starlet Kim Min-Su has achieved his first professional attacking contribution, supplying a decisive assist in FC Andorra’s 3-1 win over Real Zaragoza in La Liga Hypermotion.
The 20-year-old midfielder, regarded as one of Girona’s brightest prospects, joined Andorra on loan this season after being squeezed out by Spain’s strict non-EU quota. Kim made his senior debut in both La Liga and the Champions League last year but saw opportunities blocked when Girona filled their foreign-player slots. Andorra, the principality’s representative club located close to Catalonia, offered him guaranteed minutes — and Kim has started both of their opening two league fixtures.
A Breakthrough Performance
At Zaragoza’s Ibercaja Estadio, Kim was at the heart of Andorra’s attacking play. He twice threatened with curling efforts cutting inside from the left, before finally producing the breakthrough in the 68th minute. Switching to the right, he received a through-ball, feigned a cross, sat one defender on the turf, drew in three more, and then squared calmly for Daniel Villahermosa to finish.
It marked Kim’s first attacking return at senior level, having previously registered goals and assists in Spain’s fifth-tier Segunda Federación and the UEFA Youth League.
Earlier, in the ninth minute, Kim also initiated the move that led to Lauti’s opener, shielding the ball on the flank under pressure before it broke kindly for his team-mate to score.
Numbers Behind the Display
Kim completed the match with 2 shots on target, 1 successful dribble, 2 recoveries, 1 interception and 2 clearances. Though his defensive duel success was a modest 3 from 11, it reflected the volume of defensive work he attempted from an advanced position.
Spanish Media Reaction
Local observers highlighted his tempo and unpredictability, noting how his quick shifts between cutting inside and bursting down the flank repeatedly unsettled Zaragoza’s defence. His ability to vary decision-making between shooting and passing was praised as a key element in Andorra’s win.
A Sign of Things to Come
For Kim, the assist represents more than just a statistic: it is evidence that he is ready to translate his youth-level promise into senior football. With Andorra climbing the table early in the campaign, Girona will be watching closely to see how their young midfielder develops in the intensity of Spain’s second tier.
