Lee Kang-in of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) of French Ligue 1 is expected to be put up for sale in the summer transfer market. Unlike the first half of the season, he has not been able to completely establish his position as he has been used as a substitute player in the second half.
French media outlet 'Foot01' reported on the 7th (Korean time), "Lee Kang-in is likely to be spending his last season at PSG. PSG has decided (in effect) to part ways with Lee Kang-in this summer's transfer market."
Lee Kang-in has no major issues communicating with Spanish manager Luis Enrique, but his appearances are a different matter. The media outlet predicted that it would be difficult for him to stay at PSG any longer, saying, "He was not a clear starter in Enrique's eyes. He played a great joker role, but his appearances have decreased and his time has become shorter in recent weeks."
Lee Kang-in joined PSG last season and gradually expanded his position. This season, after Kylian Mbappe left for Real Madrid, he played as a zero top, second-line striker, and winger. Regardless of whether he was a starter or a joker, it was the card that coach Enrique used as his first priority.
However, things changed after the winter transfer market squad was organized. This was especially true after Hvica Kvaratshelya, who was called the 'Georgian Maradona' from Napoli, arrived. The prediction that he would settle down due to the absence of Randall Kolo Muani, who was loaned to Juventus after Lee Kang-in, and Marco Asensio, who chose to loan to Aston Villa, turned out to be wrong.
Lee Kang-in, who played as an attacking midfielder for several games, was used as a substitute. In particular, in the first leg of the round of 16 against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) on the 6th, he did not even get a chance to play and spent 90 minutes on the bench. The team lost 0-1 in vain. He fired 27 shots, but lost to Liverpool, who only had 2 shots.
