Swedish powerhouse Malmö FF appear to be planning a significant squad reinforcement ahead of the summer transfer window, with reports from Sportbladet suggesting that the club is monitoring both South Korean international forward Sang-bin Jeong and Danish center-back Mads Andersen.

After a less-than-ideal start to the 2025 Allsvenskan season—currently sitting in fifth place—Malmö are looking to strengthen key areas of the squad, particularly at the back and up front. Head coach Henrik Rydström has already gone on record expressing his openness to bringing in a new central defender, and Sportbladet claims that Luton Town’s Mads Andersen is high on Malmö’s list of potential signings. The 27-year-old Danish defender, who has two senior caps for Denmark, has featured in eight Championship matches for Luton this season, following another eight Premier League appearances during the club’s ill-fated top-flight campaign last year.

Although no formal contact has been made with Andersen or his representatives, Malmö are said to be keeping a close eye on his situation, with a summer move under consideration.

In addition to bolstering their back line, Malmö are also looking to sharpen their attack—and it is here that South Korea’s Sang-bin Jeong enters the picture. The 23-year-old forward, currently playing for MLS side Minnesota United, is another name reportedly being tracked by the Swedish club. Jeong has appeared in 11 MLS games so far this season and could be available for a cut-price deal, with his contract set to expire at the end of the year. Minnesota are reportedly open to letting him leave, making this an intriguing opportunity for Malmö.

Jeong, who has scored once in his senior national team debut for South Korea, brings international pedigree and youthful energy—attributes that Malmö may view as crucial in turning their domestic campaign around.
