Ulsan HD have completed the signing of towering Polish defender Milosz Trojak as they prepare for a demanding second half of the season. The 191cm centre-back joins from Polish top-flight side Korona Kielce, adding a significant aerial presence and leadership qualities to the K League giants’ backline.
The 28-year-old arrives in Ulsan as the club’s first foreign defensive acquisition in four years, underscoring the club’s commitment to reinforcing their squad ahead of a busy fixture schedule that includes the K League, Korean FA Cup, AFC Champions League, and the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup.
Proven Track Record in Poland
Trojak captained Korona Kielce in the Polish Ekstraklasa over the past three seasons, featuring in 31 league matches in the 2024/25 campaign — missing only three through suspension and the final round of the season. His durability and consistency have been hallmarks of his game, with the defender playing at least 30 league matches per season across the past five campaigns.
Renowned for his strong build-up play and precise long-range passes, Trojak is expected to fit seamlessly alongside Ulsan’s established left-footed centre-backs, including Kim Young-gwon and Lee Jae-ik, bolstering both the team’s defensive solidity and attacking transitions.
Tactical Flexibility
What makes Trojak a particularly shrewd signing for Ulsan is his versatility. While naturally a centre-back, he is also capable of operating as a defensive midfielder — a quality that gives manager Hong Myung-bo tactical flexibility in high-stakes matches.
Notably, despite his imposing frame, Trojak’s speed has drawn praise from opponents and teammates alike. Last August, Ulsan midfielder Lee Jin-hyun faced Trojak while playing for Polish outfit Puszcza Niepołomice. Reflecting on that encounter, Lee recalled, “I expected him to be slow because of his size, but he was surprisingly quick and always organising the defence. He left a strong impression.”
A Family of Football
Speaking upon his arrival, Trojak shared his excitement at embarking on his first overseas adventure. “My father was also a footballer, so I’ve always taken great pride in my career,” he said. “I have a strong desire to lift a trophy, and that’s why I’ve come to Ulsan. I want to show my son what it means to be a champion, and I’m determined to help the team achieve its goals.”
Trojak officially joined the Ulsan squad on Wednesday, participating in his first training session. Following a short adaptation period, he is set to travel with the team to the United States on Friday, where they will begin preparations for the FIFA Club World Cup.
With Milosz Trojak now in their ranks, Ulsan HD look well-positioned to tackle the challenges that lie ahead, hoping to add silverware to their already illustrious trophy cabinet.
