Górnik Zabrze continue their ambitious transfer campaign this summer with the imminent arrival of South Korean international Goh Young-jun, according to Tomasz Włodarczyk, one of Poland’s leading football journalists.

Włodarczyk reports that the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, capable of playing on both wings and in central creative roles, is set to become the latest addition to the 14-time Polish champions. Goh is expected to land in Poland next week to complete the formalities before signing a contract running until 30 June 2028.

This marks another significant coup for Górnik, who have been particularly active in the current window, already confirming the signings of Michal Šašek, Jarosław Kubicki, Wiktor Nowak, Theodoros Tsirigotis, and Gabriel Barbosa. Goh’s arrival would further bolster their attacking options as they look to climb the Ekstraklasa table in the upcoming season.

Goh spent the 2023–24 season with Serbian giants FK Partizan, making 23 appearances across all competitions and registering one goal. Despite relatively limited playing time — totalling 703 minutes — he showed flashes of the technical ability and agility that made him one of the K League’s brightest prospects prior to his move to Europe.

The midfielder was signed by Partizan from Pohang Steelers in January 2024 for a reported fee of €1.2 million, but his stint in Serbia appears set to end after just half a season as he prepares to take on a new challenge in the Polish top flight.

A full international with South Korea, Goh brings both quality and international pedigree to Górnik’s project. His arrival continues a broader trend of Eastern European clubs actively scouting and recruiting young talent from Asia — a move that not only diversifies their squads but also expands their commercial reach in one of football’s most passionate markets.

If the deal is finalised as expected, Górnik Zabrze will secure a dynamic, versatile playmaker entering his prime years, and Goh will become one of the few Korean players to ply their trade in the Polish Ekstraklasa.

The move also provides Goh with a promising platform to establish himself in European football after a somewhat subdued spell in Serbia. At Górnik, he is expected to have a more prominent role — both creatively and in leadership — as the club undergoes a strategic rebuild under its new sporting direction.
