Championship side Norwich express intent
Norwich City have joined the race to sign Celtic’s South Korean winger Hyunjun Yang, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph. The 23-year-old, who registered six goals and six assists in all competitions last season, has drawn interest from clubs across England and Europe.
With three years remaining on his contract at Parkhead, Yang is emerging as a potential summer departure amid growing speculation over his future.
Interest growing across Europe
Legia Warsaw are among the clubs to have made a formal enquiry for the winger, while teams in Germany and Belgium are also believed to be keeping tabs on his situation. Yang’s dynamic style of play and attacking output have made him an attractive option for clubs seeking wide reinforcements.
Sources suggest that the South Korea international is open to exploring a move away from Glasgow, viewing it as a chance to secure regular minutes and take the next step in his development.
Celtic yet to make decision
Despite growing interest, Celtic are yet to determine whether they will allow Yang to leave this summer. Manager Brendan Rodgers is understood to be assessing attacking reinforcements, and Yang’s future could hinge on whether new signings are brought in before the transfer window closes.
Yang signed for Celtic in July 2023 from K League side Gangwon FC and has experienced a mixed debut season in Scottish football. While his raw talent and creativity are clear, inconsistency has sometimes limited his impact in Rodgers’ system.
Valued asset or expendable talent?
Should Celtic decide to part ways with Yang, the club could command a respectable fee for a player with international experience and long-term contract security. For now, Norwich and others will continue to monitor developments closely, as the winger weighs up his options ahead of a potentially career-defining move.
