South Korean football icon Son Heung-min has officially arrived in the United States, taking a major step toward finalizing his move to Major League Soccer side LAFC. The 33-year-old touched down at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on the afternoon of August 5 (Pacific Time), marking the beginning of what is expected to be the second act of his illustrious football career.

Son departed from Incheon International Airport aboard Korean Air flight KE011 at 8:52 PM KST and arrived at LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal at 4:05 PM PT. More than 200 fans and members of the Local media had gathered at the terminal to greet him. However, they were left disappointed as Son exited through a private route arranged by LAFC, avoiding any public appearance or statement.

Despite the brief absence, fans remained understanding. “We were hoping to see him, of course, but we completely understand,” said one local supporter. “What matters is that he’s here, and we can’t wait to watch him in black and gold.”

Son’s arrival comes amid heightened anticipation surrounding his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.
