English media reported that Cho Gue-Sung will head to Mainz in the German Bundesliga.

Evening Standard reported, "South Korean striker Cho Gue-Sung will choose Mainz, not Celtic, in the January transfer market." Cho Gue-Sung's transfer fee is expected to be 2.5 million GBP.

Cho Gue-Sung is the 2022 Qatar World Cup star. Cho Gue-Sung, who scored 17 goals and became the top scorer in the K League 1 last year, headed to Qatar with the choice of former head coach Paulo Bento.

He proved his skills on the stage that the world is paying attention to. Cho Gue-Sung drew attention from Europe by scoring twice in the second group match against Ghana with a header.

After the World Cup, rumors of Cho Gue-Sung's transfer to Turkiye, Scottish Celtic, and French League 1 came out.

At the time, Cho Gue-Sung's agent said, "There are proposals coming from several teams, but we have to wait and see."

The Evening Standard report is specific. The media reported that "Park Ji-sung is negotiating with Mainz in London about Cho Gue-Sung's transfer."

It also predicted that the transfer could be completed before January 21, when the Bundesliga resumes.

Mainz is a familiar team to Korean fans. It's a team with Lee Jae-sung. Mainz is currently ranked 10th in the Bundesliga.
