Ulsan HD has completed the formation of a coaching staff that will lead the team and draw the 2025 season. Foreign head coaches and coaches who worked with Manager Kim Pan-gon on the Malaysian national team have joined.

Portuguese national Fonseca has been named as the head coach who will help Manager Kim build the core of the team. He has acquired a UEFA PRO coaching license and has built a solid career in Europe before coming to Ulsan.

Head coach Fonseca has gained experience in tactics and analysis at Manchester City in the English Premier League and the Qatar national team by age group, and has served as a coach for FC Nantes, Lens, and Valenciennes in the French top-tier football league Ligue 1. He will closely assist Manager Kim as a coach who will refine tactics to create the team's flow based on detailed analysis.

Coach Cho Kwang-soo, who was with Ulsan for three consecutive K-League championships, will also prepare for the 2025 season. Coach Cho Kwang-soo, who helped Seongnam FC in the 2018 season and Jeju United in the 2020 season to be promoted to K League 1, is now in his fifth season in Ulsan. Coach Cho Kwang-soo is in charge of managing the overall schedule and preparing set-piece tactics for Kim Pan-gon.

The addition of coaches who worked with Coach Kim on the Malaysian national team to Ulsan is also notable. Goalkeeper Coach Cho Jun-ho and Physical Coach Park Ji-hyun will join the Ulsan coaching staff. The two coaches, who assisted Coach Kim in Malaysia for about three years from 2022 to 2024, also have considerable domestic experience.

Coach Cho Jun-ho is a veteran with experience as a player for Pohang Steelers, Bucheon SK, Jeju United, and Daegu FC, and is an experienced goalkeeper coach who has played for national and club teams of various age groups. ‘Cho Hyun-woo, Moon Jung-in, Moon Hyun-ho, Ryu Seong-min’ He will provide customized guidance to Ulsan’s goalkeepers, who range from the number one goalkeepers in Korea to promising players.

Physical coach Park Ji-hyun has also proven her skills in national and club teams by age group. As she served as a physical coach for Seoul E-Land and Suwon Samsung in the K-League for a total of 4 years before moving to the Malaysian national team, she is expected to understand the K-League scene and characteristics well and provide immediate and effective help to the players.

The joining of disciples is also worth noting. The main character is Coach Kim Seok-woo, who was taught by Coach Kim during his first coaching career as a coach at Junggyeong High School in 1998. After finishing his career as a professional player for about 9 years, Coach Kim Seok-woo served as the coach and manager of Suwon’s U15 and 18 teams. Coach Kim Seok-woo, who knows Coach Kim better than anyone else while possessing experience as a player and coach, is expected to help Kim Pan-gon’s soccer mature even more.

The surprising news is Coach Park chu-young. Now, Park chu-young is transforming from a veteran player to a coach. Park chu-young, who leads the team from the front as a full-time coach rather than a playing coach, is expected to play a great role as a bridge between the coaching staff and the players. Park chu-young, who has had a more splendid career as a player than anyone else, has shown himself as a leader who leads the players more comfortably than anyone else, so attention is focused on what kind of image he will show as a coach.

The Ulsan players are scheduled to return to Ulsan after finishing their training in Dubai next Saturday (the 26th).
