K League 1 Jeonbuk Hyundai has recruited a foreign striker to enhance its scoring power.
On the 6th, Jeonbuk announced that it has recruited Andrea Compagno, an Italian striker with experience as a national team player, as a free agent.
Jeonbuk selected Andrea Compagno as a player who can enhance the team's scoring power in the front line, which was considered a weakness last season, and serve as the team's finisher.
Andrea Compagno is a 195cm tall striker with excellent heading ability and can score with both his right and left feet, giving him the ability to score with a variety of options.
Andrea Compagno, who started his career as an Italian player in Serie D 'Pinerol' in 2016 and gradually developed his skills as a striker, moved to San Marino 'Tre Fiori' in 2018 and fully demonstrated his attacking instincts.
‘He scored 22 goals in 24 games in the 2018-19 season and became the top scorer in the San Marino Championship (campionato) that year.
He also showed a good performance in the 2019-20 season the following year, scoring 15 goals and 9 assists in 17 games, and also played in the Europa League qualifiers, scoring 1 goal in 2 games.
After moving to Romania, Andrea Compagno played an active role in ‘FC U Craiova (Craiova, ’20-21)’ and ‘FCSB’, playing in 116 games during this period, scoring 46 goals and 5 assists, once again showing off his scoring ability.
Based on this, he was selected for the Italian national team led by coach Mancini in 2023 and was named on the roster.
Compagno, who proved his scoring ability in Europe, also challenged the Chinese Super League and proved his skills on the Asian stage by scoring 19 goals in 29 games in the 24th season. Andrea Compagno said, “I am excited and have high expectations to challenge myself on a new stage. I will do my best to live up to the fans’ expectations as I have come to the best team in the K-League.” He added, “Since the opening game is just around the corner, I will work hard to get my condition up as soon as possible and perform my best with my teammates.”
