Spurs forward Son Heung-min's A-match travel distance has decreased significantly. This is good news for both the South Korean national soccer team and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Korea Football Association announced Thursday on its official channel that it will host the second leg of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifying round between Lebanon and South Korea, which was scheduled for Sept. 7.

South Korea will play its first match against Iraq on September 2 and Lebanon on September 7.

Originally, the Taegeuk Warriors were supposed to play away after the home games in Asian qualifiers, which lasted from September, October, November, January, February and March 2022.

In this case, the players are active in Europe to South Korea after moving Time difference condition due to concerns due to western Asia.

A heavy schedule at Tottenham in London in the case of playing after moving to Seoul after the run-up to the Western Asia to Time and time difference and flight distance have to play for the problem is getting worse.

As all the first and second World Cup qualifiers were played in Seoul in September, Korean players in the European League, including Son Heung-min, had an advantage in managing their conditions.

The match, which was supposed to be held in Lebanon on September 7, changed the match to Lebanon on January 27, 2022.

Such a change in schedule is also advantageous to Son Heung-min. Son Heung-min will play after moving to Lebanon, not Korea, on January 27, 2022 and play away against Syria on February 1. Lebanon and Syria have a short distance to travel.

The distance between Europe and West Asia is shorter than that of Korea and the time difference is relatively small. This is clear good news for Tottenham and Son Heung-min in January and February, when the 2021/22 season begins, and the mid-season is under heavy physical pressure.

The reschedule was approved by the KFA in July by the Lebanese Football Association, which received final approval from the AFC.

The home game against Lebanon in January next year was confirmed by AFC in line with FIFA's changed A-match calendar as the schedule for the A-match was not completed in the aftermath of last year's coronavirus 19. However, there were concerns over whether normal performance could be achieved considering the weather in January.

The KFA persuaded the Lebanese Football Association to change the schedule based on the fact that "the final qualifying schedule can be changed if the two countries agree on Home and Away for clear reasons." Therefore, both final qualifying matches in September will be held domestically, and two matches scheduled in January will be held as away matches in the Middle East.

"The domestic home game in January has been pushing for a schedule change in consultation with Coach Bento due to the high risk of injury and performance problems due to the cold weather," said Hwang Ji-jang, head of the KFA's competition technology division. "We also considered that we can build points with three home games in the beginning," said Hwang Bo, head of the headquarters. "It will also be advantageous to control the condition by shortening the distance of the national team players, which is mainly European."

Following the change of venue, South Korea's Qatar World Cup Asian qualifying schedule is as follows.
