Son Jun-ho, a midfielder from the Korean national football team who was detained by Chinese authorities and released after about 10 months, shared his first thoughts.

On the 26th, Son Jun-ho said through his social network service (SNS), "I feel grateful that I can return safely, spend comfortable time with my family, and enjoy a normal daily life."

He added, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the people of the Republic of Korea who have not forgotten, showed interest, waited, and worried for a long time."

Son Jun-ho, who played in the Chinese professional soccer Super League, was arrested on May 12 last year while trying to return from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport on charges of bribery of non-state agents and was investigated by Chinese authorities.

The possibility that Son Jun-ho was involved in match-fixing or that money was exchanged during his transfer to Shandong was mentioned, but Son Jun-ho's side has strongly denied these suspicions.

Although Son Jun-ho returned to his family after 10 months, it is not clear what exactly the judgment was from the Chinese authorities for his release.

Meanwhile, Son Jun-ho hopes to return to the field this summer.
